Debuting October 28, 2002 as the lead single from the *8 Mile* soundtrack, “Lose Yourself” was written on set and captures B-Rabbit’s fight for respect in Detroit. Rooted in fear, hope, and do-or-die resolve, the track became an anthem of personal breakthrough.
The track held No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 for 12 weeks, became the first rap song to win an Oscar for Best Original Song, and earned two Grammys. It remains one of hip hop’s greatest anthems.
